TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT

Initially this dress that I bought in Mango during sale had extremely deep neck. I could have left it and wear this dress only for some special occasions, but I could not wait to wear it as soon as possible (even for a warm evening walk with my friends to the nearest wine bar). So I decided to change it in a way that will suit my personality and make it not "occasion-dependent". And here it comes. Airy, light, girly dress that is modest enough. And to return this dress into the festive category you can just simply put a collar necklace (as I decided here) or a fur collar (for more cold seasons), just to make it look like in old films, because the waist line of this dress reminds of dresses that were popular in 1940s).

Это платье я купила на распродаже в магазине Mango. Первоначально у него был очень глубокий вырез... Я могла бы оставить его только для особенных случаев, но я не могла дождаться, когда я смогу его надеть (даже просто для прогулки тёплым вечером с друзьями до ближайшего винного бара). Поэтому я решила модернизировать его в соответствии со своим внутренним мироощущением и сделать его "независимым от случая". И вот что получилось. Воздушное, легкое, девичье и достаточно скромное платье. Чтобы вернуть его в категорию "выходного костюма" достаточно всего лишь надеть ожерелье воротник (как в моем случае) или меховую горжетку (больше подойдёт для более прохладного времени года), чтобы сделать образ похожим на образы фильмов 40-х годов, потому как линия талия этого платья как раз напоминает платья этой эпохи.

BEFORE AUTUMN

Two days before autumn starts I decided to put on the most "summer", effortless and airy dress I have. It is not a usual look for me: here I wear both dress and heels at the same time. But sometimes you may allow yourself to be a girl (just several days before you'll start wearing coats till the next spring). So enjoy the last summer days!

ASIA INSPIRED

Since my last post of the ootd a lot of time has passed and my view on dressing myself has changed. Mostly these changes are connected with my university. In autumn I will be 4th yaer student of phamaceutical faculty. I had very specific vision of fashion earlier, I had more free time and I spent it on making every detail of my look unique and unusual. And when you're a teenager it is easy to look like a freak. When I reached my 20s I faced that a freak with white coat upward is not really appropriate appearance. But situation is not that pessimistic. So from now I want to reveal how to balance the freak inside you and mature person outside.
To start with (after the long break), I want to show you just a dress. It is just a win-win situation, especially with such pretty "asian-style" sleeves and print.

AN ENDING FITTING FOR THE START

Few days ago I arrived from Vilnius. It was my last destination for this summer. I' be been there for many-many times. That's why in this post you probably won't see any typical sights. This post is for people who have already been there (if not, just search for tag 'travel diary' on the top of my blog). And here you can see very comfortable but stylish look for this kind of traveling that I call "a map and a bottle of water" traveling. On making this look I was inspired by the way Italian woman dresses.

I love mixing patterns but sometimes it's hard. And I have a little tip: if you're not good in it, you should combine patterns of the same color xx

BASIC DRESS

This dress is  for this summer. Everybody knows (even some bloggers have such a problem) there is such days when you don't know what to put on. And in my opinion this dress is made for these days. Let me say, it's one of the basic dresses. And also you can see here this amazing small coffer. And I'm absolutely in love with it xx

TWO DAYS TRIP

Biggest part of holidays is practically behind us. We have only one and a half week left! Today I'm going to another trip to very lovely city- Vilnius. And this is my look for it. When I'm going somewhere for couple of days I try to take as little cloth as I can. But at the same time I can not imagine any traveling without a dress. It' s compulsory outfit for any girl going abroad

This week was eventful: my bf’s 18 birthday. And this day I spent with my bfs. We arranged a great birthday party for her that day. I shouldn't tell much about this day, because then we were doing something that means to us much, but others won't probably understand. It wasn't just a simple party. It was a day that we (me and my 3 bff) spent together. And below you can see my look for her birthday party and some photos. 

THEY SEEM SO VERY NICE, INSIDE THEY MIGHT FEEL SAD AND WRONG

I can't stand this super hot weather, that established in eastern Europe this week. Thank God, very soon it will change and become just warm. But this week I was trying to survive in this heat. Last Saturday I met up with one girl from Barcelona. We were having fun last week no matter how hot it was in Minsk. It was really great time and I will miss her, because this Monday she's leaving Minsk. And below you can see one of my looks for such kind of weather and for traveling around my city. xx 

I TRY TO BE LIKE GRACE KELLY

Few days ago I and my friend were searching for a perfect bag for her. Actually we have found it. This bag looks like new Alexander McQueen bag called ‘Heroine’. But before buying this bag I and my friend found some kind of a bookstore. There I found this gorgeous book about Grace Kelly and I immediately though that I need to buy it, and I don’t even looked what was inside. My bf said: ‘After buying this book, we’ll find my ideal bag. We just need to start buying’. And it was true. We have bought it. But when I got home I understood that this book has not met my expectations. At that bookstore I thought: ‘it’ll be cool book, gorgeous Grace Kelly and a lot of marvelous pictures’.  But actually it was some sort of advices on every page, for example, how to marry, but with marvelous pictures. I wasn’t really inspired by this book, only by these pictures. So the next day I wanted to look a little bit conservative. And here are some pics.

Несколько дней назад мы с моей подругой искали идеальную сумку для неё. И мы её нашли. Эта сумка выглядит как новая сумка Александра МакКуина, которая называется «Героин». Но перед тем, как её найти мы зашли в книжный магазин. Там я нашла эту изумительную книгу про Грейс Келли и я мгновенно подумала, что надо её купить, и даже не посмотрела, что было написано внутри. Моя подруга сказала: «После покупки этой книги, мы точно найдём мою идеальную сумку. Мы просто должны начать покупать». И это была правда. Мы купили и книгу и сумку. Но когда я пришла домой, я поняла, что я не это ожидала увидеть в книге. В этом магазине я подумала: «Это будет чудесная книга, роскошная Грейс Келли почти на каждой страничке. Но на самом деле на каждой страничке были какие-то советы, например, как выйти замуж, но с изумительными фотографиями. Я не была впечатлена этой книгой, только картинками в ней. Поэтому на следующий день я хотела выглядеть чуточку консервативно. И вот несколько фоторафий.

SO NAIVE

Almost all summer I have carried out on trips. I don’t like to take a lot of bags and suitcases, with a lot of unnecessary items. That’s why I want to share with you some of my rules for collecting items.  The main rule is to take one big enough bag, it’ll be much convenient, and not many items (exact quantity depends on duration of your trip). For certain, you have already understood the reason. But don't spend all your holidays to carry out that task: “to fill all to edges, and to buy another one bigger suitcase and to fill it with clothes completely”. If you go somewhere only for couple of days, it will be enough to take some items that you could mix in any order. And also I can’t present my journeys without a dress and a jacket, and it’s not important which exactly. I take this items no matter what season it is now. Also it is easier to make your looks unusual in trips with the help of accessories. They borrow much less place than, for example, another dress. Почти всё лето я провела в каких-то маленьких поездках. Я не люблю брать с собой гору чемоданов с не всегда нужными вещами. Поэтому я хочу поделиться с вами некоторыми своими правилами для собирания вещей. Самое главное брать одну довольно большую сумку, что бы было удобно носить, и мало вещей (их точное количество зависит от продолжительности путешествия). Наверняка, все уже поняли для чего. Но не надо тратить всё свое путешествие для выполнения задачи: «заполнить весь до краёв, купить ещё один большой чемодан и его полностью набить одеждой». Если едешь всего на несколько дней, то вполне можно ограничиться несколькими предметами одежды, которые могут сочетаться друг с другом в любом порядке. А ещё я не представляю ни одной поездки без платья и пиджака, не важно, каких именно. Я беру эти вещи в любую поездку, не смотря на сезон. В поездках проще делать наряды необычными с помощью аксессуаров. Они занимают гораздо меньше места, чем, например, лишнее платье. Вот и все мои правила. Желаю всем в последний летний месяц хорошо отдохнуть. В конце лета я поделюсь с вами статьёй и фотографиями о моих путешествиях. А ниже я опубликовала наряд для моей прошлой поездки.

 

 

 

FACEHUNTER'S LECTURE

I almost don't visit runway shows, but this BFW season began with Yvan Rodic’s lecture. Well-known blogger appeared with a lecture: “How blogging is changing fashion?” I found out about lecture from his blog “facehunter” even a month before this event and understood that I need to get there.

As soon as I entered a small cafe where lecture took place, I saw a great number of lovely people. And I noticed high and intelligent Yvan. When I approached him, Yvan met me with a word “ Привет!” in pure Russian. During talk I understood that Yvan is very sociable person.

Even before the beginning of lecture Yvan managed to take some photos and immediately after this it was possible to see these photos in his twitter. I’m always surprised by people who manage to do everything, and do it so quickly.

During the lecture Yvan told about his blog, the history of it’s appearance, about influence of blogs on fashion, and gave some advices about blogging. But I want to admit the most curious Yvan’s expression: “In Belarus people are hungry to fashion and Minsk has much more chances to become fashion capital, than even any Swiss city”.

Я почти не посещаю показы в рамках Белорусской недели моды, но в этом сезоне она началась с лекции Ивана Родика. Известный блоггер выступил с темой: “ Как блоггинг и социальные медиа влияют на развитие моды? ”. Об этом мероприятии я узнала из его блога facehunter ещё за месяц до лекции и сразу поняла, что мне надо обязательно туда попасть.

Как только я вошла в маленькое кафе, где должна была состояться лекция, я увидела множество приятных людей. И сразу же заметила высокого интеллигентного Ивана. Когда я подошла к нему, Иван встретил меня со словом “ Привет! ” на чистом русском языке.  Во время разговора я убедилась, что Иван очень общительный человек.

Ещё до начала лекции Иван успел сфотографировать двух красивых девушек, и буквально в ту же секунду всё это уже можно было видеть в его твиттере. Меня всегда удивляли люди, которые успевают делать всё, и ещё так быстро.

Во время лекции Иван рассказывал про свой блог, историю его появления, про влияние блогов на моду, и давал советы по продвижению блога. Но больше всего мне запомнилось высказывание Ивана: “ В Беларуси люди голодны к моде и у Минска больше шансов стать столицей моды, чем даже у любого швейцарского города”.

BRAND-NEW SEASON

Every February “spring feeling of joy and renovation” is visiting me. In the work of great Russian writer this feeling has no reason and in my case exist some bases for it. But practically all of them are connected with the beginning of new season. I need to admit that this season will be unique because distinctive feature is occurrence of courageous young faces. Last September many fashion houses changed their designers, some of them did it even on the runway show’s eve. Anyway their debuts were triumphal. Today young people without stereotypes, who don’t afraid to mix different styles, lead the world of fashion. Now young fashion- bloggers have influence on designer’s inspiration. I hope that these changes are connected with the change of the whole epoch in the world of fashion.

  But I continue posting my new looks and this outfit I have chosen for Fall-Winter 2012-2013 runway shows this weekend on TV with my friends. I can’t imagine that this Thursday NYFW will take place in Bryant Park and my twitter is full of messages about preparation for brand-new season.

Каждый февраль меня посещает «весеннее чувство радости и обновления».  Но если в произведении великого русского писателя оно является беспричинным, то у меня на это чувство есть множество оснований. Но почти все они связаны с началом нового сезона. Стоит отметить, что этот сезон обещает быть уникальным, так как отличительной чертой является появление смелых молодых лиц. В прошлом сентябре многие дома мод сменили своих дизайнеров, некоторые сделали это почти накануне недели моды. В любом случае их дебют был триумфальным. Сегодня миром моды начинают руководить молодые люди без стереотипов, которые не бояться смешивать разные стили. И именно в этом сезоне модные блоггеры начали оказывать значительное влияние на вдохновение молодых дизайнеров.  Надеюсь, что с этими переменами происходит и смена целой эпохи в мире моды.

  А я продолжаю показывать свои образы и именно этот я подготовила для просмотра показов сезона осень-зима 2012-2013 на этих выходных со своими друзьями. Ведь именно на этой неделе, в четверг начинается неделя моды в Нью-Йорке и весь мой твиттер так и пестрит новостями о подготовке к будущему сезону.
